                                                                                                                Working principle
Falling Film Evaporator is to feed the liquid raw material from the top end of heating tank and distribute it evenly to the inside heat exchanger tubes wall through the liquid distribution and film-forming device. Under the action of gravity and vacuum induction and airflow, it flows uniformly from top to bottom. In the process of flow, the steam produced by heating and vaporizing the shell side medium enters to the evaporator ( separator ) tank together with the liquid phase. The vapor and liquid are fully separated. The vapor gas enters the condenser condensation (as a single effect operation) or enters the next effective evaporator as the heating medium (as a muti-stage effect operation). The concentrated liquid phase is discharged from the evaporator
( separator ) tank.

Falling Film Evaporator is widely used in pharmaceutical, food, chemical, biological engineering, environmental protection engineering, waste liquid recovery and other industries.
 
If it is applied in food, it can continuously evaporate and concentrate the thermosensitive materials such as glucose, fructose, fresh milk, tomato juice, soybean milk, xylitol, sorbitol, VC, starch sugar, Chinese medicine extract and so on, so as to improve the product concentration.
 
In the aspect of wastewater treatment, industrial wastewater can be evaporated to achieve the purpose of wastewater recovery or discharge.

Structural Overview of the Falling Film Evaporator

 
The falling film evaporator is a highly efficient heat exchanger designed for the concentration of heat-sensitive and viscous materials. Its structure is centered on the principle of uniform liquid distribution and gravity-driven film flow, ensuring short residence time and high heat transfer coefficients.
 
A vertical shell-and-tube heat exchanger containing a bundle of heating tubes. Heating steam condenses on the outside of the tubes, transferring latent heat to the liquid film flowing down the inner tube walls.
 
Located at the bottom of the evaporator body, it separates the concentrated liquid from the generated vapor using centrifugal force or gravity settling.
 
A shell-and-tube or plate heat exchanger that condenses the secondary vapor (water vapor) using cooling water
 
Maintains the system under negative pressure, lowering the boiling point of the liquid to protect heat-sensitive products.
 
The feed pump delivers the raw liquid to the top; the recirculation pump (optional) may be used for partial recirculation when higher final concentration is required.
